A shooting in Northeast DC mid-morning Monday killed a man, WJLA and WUSA report.
Reports WJLA:
MPD officials say that the victim was shot several times in the 500 block of 57th Street NE at about 10:30 a.m.
MPD Commander George Kucik said, “The investigation’s very, very early, so we’re really in the process of interviewing witnesses and trying to determine exactly what happened. The only thing we have is information from someone that saw a small, black vehicle leaving the scene.”
WUSA reports that the shooting may have been an attempted robbery and that “two masked men were seen fleeing in a black 2 door car with front-end damage.”
MPD has not yet issued a press release in connection with this case. A tweet from MPD indicates that in the early stages of the investigation investigators were looking for a Nissan or Toyota vehicle with a Maryland license plate containing “4604.”
