A shooting in the 4300 block of 4th Street Southeast killed 27-year-old Marc Griffith of Northeast D.C. Saturday evening.
Police responded to a report of gunshots around 9:19 pm, where officers saw a man “stagger to a vehicle and leave the scene,” according to an MPD statement.
“Moments later the adult male was dropped off at a local hospital in an unconscious state, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Hospital staff performed lifesaving efforts to no avail and the victim was pronounced dead.”

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 4300 block of 4th Street, Southeast.
On Saturday, March 23, 2013, at approximately 9:19 pm, Special Police Officers working in the area responded to the 4300 block of 4th Street, SE for what they believed to be the sounds of gunshots. Upon arrival, they observed an adult male stagger to a vehicle and leave the scene. Moments later the adult male was dropped off at a local hospital in an unconscious state, suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Hospital staff performed lifesaving efforts to no avail and the victim was pronounced dead.
The decedent is identified as 27-year-old Marc Griffith of Northeast, Washington, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
