A 28 year old Southwest DC man was found dead Thursday afternoon inside an apartment of an apparant gunshot wound. His death has been ruled a homicide, MPD announced Saturday afternoon.
The man, identified as Charles Garris, was found by police in the 1200 block of Talbert Street, SE at about 3:32 p.m.

Homicide: 1200 Block of Talbert Street, Southeast
(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 1200 block of Talbert Street, Southeast.
On Thursday, May 16, 2013, at approximately 3:32 pm, units from the Seventh District responded to the 1200 block of Talbert Street, SE for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an adult male inside an apartment suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and determined that the victim had no signs consistent with life. The decedent remained on the scene and was later transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia, pending an autopsy.
The decedent is identified as 28 year old Charles Garris of Southwest, Washington, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
