A woman found fatally stabbed in Southeast mid-morning Monday has been identified as 22-year-old Julisa Brittney Washington.
Police have arrested 23-year-old Stefon Kirkpatrick on suspicion of second-degree murder while armed in connection with Washington’s death.

Homicide Arrest: 400 Block of Chesapeake Street, Southeast
(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in the homicide which occurred in the 400 block of Chesapeake Street, Southeast.
On Monday, July 29, 2013, at approximately 10:22 am, members from the Seventh District responded to the 400 block of Chesapeake Street, Southeast for a report of a woman down. Upon arrival, they located an unconscious adult female, suffering from an apparent stab wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services did not find signs consistent with life. The decedent was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner pending autopsy.
The decedent is identified as 22 year-old Julisa Brittney Washington of Southeast, Washington, DC.
Police arrested 23 year-old Stefon Kirkpatrick of Southwest, Washington, DC, on the scene and charged with Murder II While Armed in the stabbing death of Julisa Brittney Washington.
