A Southeast D.C. man who was fatally shot Saturday morning has been identified as 29-year-old Javar Robert Allen.
Allen was found around 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of 23rd Street Southeast suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide: Rear of 1500 Block of 23rd Street, SE
(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the rear of 1500 block of 23rd Street, SE.
On Saturday, August 17, 2013, at approximately 12:25 am, Sixth District patrol officers received a radio assignment for a shooting in the rear of 1500 block of 23rd Street, SE. Upon their arrival, the officers discovered a male victim suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and determined that there were no signs consistent with life and the decedent remained on the scene.
The decedent is identified as 29-year-old Javar Robert Allen of Southeast, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
