Timothy Delonte Dawkins Killed in SE DC Shooting Wednesday Evening

A 24-year-old Southeast DC man was killed in a shooting Wednesday evening in front of an apartment building.

The victim, Timothy Delonte Dawkins, was found dead in Southeast DC just before 7 p.m.

Homicide: 4200 Block of 4th Street, Southeast

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 4200 block of 4th Street, Southeast.

On Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at approximately 6:52 pm, patrol officers from the Seventh District responded to the 4200 block of 4th Street, Southeast for the report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they located an unconscious adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and did not find any signs consistent with life. The decedent remained on the scene and was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia, pending an autopsy.

The decedent is identified as 24 year-old Timothy Delonte Dawkins of Southeast, Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
