Detectives are investigating the death of a man found Monday evening with multiple stab wounds in Rock Creek Park at Beach Drive and Joyce Road NW.
During a press conference Tuesday, acting Captain Robert Alder said that the victim was found by a citizen “lying near the bed of Rock Creek”.
Currently, the investigation is seeking to determine whether the stabbing actually occurred at the Rock Creek Park, Alder said. But, based on the victim’s attire, Alder told reporters that it doesn’t appear that the victim was exercising in the park.
Though the victim’s identity has been confirmed through fingerprints, the Metropolitan Police Department is currently withholding the victim’s name and information until his next-of-kin has been contacted.
