The death of a young man in Northeast DC is being investigated as a homicide, MPD’s Fifth District Commander Andy Solberg said in a listserv message Friday afternoon.
Wrote Solberg:
This morning at about 8 am, a person discovered the body of a young man who appeared to have been shot next to a building at 1944 3rd St, NE.
The matter is being investigated as a homicide.

The Washington Post reports that the police say the man was shot once and was pronounced dead at the scene.
