Devar Battle, 34, Killed in SE DC Shooting

An overnight shooting in the 3000 block of 30th Street Southeast killed 34-year-old Devar Battle, MPD said in a statement.

Battle, a Southeast D.C. resident, was found suffering from gunshot wounds around 12:40 a.m., police said. He died at a local hospital.

Homicide: 3000 Block of 30th Street, Southeast

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 3000 block of 30th Street, Southeast.

On Saturday, September 28, 2013 at approximately 12:40 am, patrol officers from the Seventh District responded to the 3000 block of 30th Street, Southeast for the report of sounds of gunshots. Upon their arrival, they located an adult male suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced.

The decedent is identified as 34 year-old Devar Battle of Southeast, Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
