Man Killed in SE DC Shooting Monday Night

UPDATE MPD has identified the man killed as Anthony Robinson of Southeast DC. A press release is after the jump.

A man died late Monday night after being shot in Southeast DC near Minnesota Avenue and Good Hope Road.

WUSA reports that the man was 26 years old and that he was shot in the chest and abdomen.

Homicide: 1900 Block of 17th Street, SE

(Washington, DC)- Detectives from The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 1900 block of 17th Street, SE.

On Monday, December 2, 2013, at approximately 10:50 pm, members of the Seventh District responded to the sound of gunshots in the 1900 block of 17th Street, SE. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The remains of the decedent were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner pending an autopsy and a determination of a cause and manner of death.

The decedent is identified as 26-year-old Anthony Robinson of Southeast, Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
