July Domestic Violence Death Ruled Homicide; Police Say Suspect is Dead

The death of a 31-year-old in Southeast DC in July has been ruled a homicide and police say the woman was the victim of domestic violence.

Police on Friday evening identified the woman as Kisha Lashawn McCall. They said a suspect in the case has been identified, but has since died.

Undetermined Death Ruled Homicide: 2200 Block of Retta Gilliam Court, SE

(Washington, DC)- The Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a homicide which occurred in the 2200 block of Retta Gilliam Court, SE.

On Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at approximately 10:39 am, members of the Seventh District received a call for the report of an unconscious female in the 2200 block of Retta Gilliam Court, SE. Upon arrival, they located an unconscious adult female. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and did not find any signs consistent with life. The decedent remained on the scene and was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner who later ruled the death a homicide.

The decedent is identified as 31-year-old Kisha Lashawn McCall of Southeast, Washington, DC.

The investigation has revealed that the decedent’s death was the result of a domestic incident. Police have identified a suspect, who is deceased at this time.
