James Cornelius Robinson Arrested in Aug. Shooting Death of Jason Alexander Murphy

A 19-year-old Suitland, Maryland man was arrested early Saturday morning in connection with the August shooting death of Jason Alexander Murphy.

The suspect, identified by police as James Cornelius Robinson is suspected of second-degree murder while armed.

Arrest Made in Homicide: Rear of the 1300 Block of Savannah Street, Southeast

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced an arrest has been made in the shooting which occurred in the rear of the 1300 block of Savannah Street, Southeast.

On Saturday, August 31, 2013 at approximately 2:29 am, patrol officers from the Seventh District responded to the rear of the 1300 block of Savannah Street, Southeast for the report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they located an unconscious adult male suffering from apparent multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced.

The decedent is identified as 30 year-old Jason Alexander Murphy of New Carrollton, Maryland.

On Saturday, December 14, 2013, at approximately 5:30 am, members of the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch, the Capitol Are Regional Fugitive Task Force, and members from the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Special Operations Division arrested, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 19 year-old James Cornelius Robinson of Suitland, Maryland, charging him with Murder II While Armed in connection to the shooting death of Jason Alexander Murphy.
