MPD has announced an arrest in the 1999 shooting death of 18-year-old Kelvin Howard. Police say 35-year-old Anthony Gray of Southeast DC was arrested Tuesday. He is the second arrest in the case, police say.

Additional Arrest Made in a 1999 Homicide: 300 Block of 51st Street, Southeast(Washington, DC)- The Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch has announced that an additional arrest has been made in the homicide which occurred in the 300 block of 51st Street, Southeast.
On Thursday, February 25, 1999, members from the Sixth District responded to a call for the report of a shooting in the 300 block of 51st Street, Southeast. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The decedent is identified as 18 year-old Kelvin Howard of Southeast, Washington, DC.
On Tuesday, January 14, 2014, members from the Criminal Investigation Division arrested 35 year-old Anthony Gray of Southeast, Washington, DC, charging him with First Degree Murder while armed in connection to the homicide of Kelvin Howard. An adult male was previously arrested on Monday, July 26, 2011 also in connection to the homicide of Kelvin Howard.
