A 32-year-old Northeast DC man has died after being shot late Tuesday night.
The man, identified by police as Elvin Jessie Johnson, was transported to a local hospital from the 4200 block of Foote Street, Northeast by a relative. He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Homicide: 4200 Block of Foote Street, Northeast
(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 4200 block of Foote Street, Northeast.
On Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at approximately 11:52 pm, police officers from the Sixth District responded to a call for a shooting in the 4200 block of Foote Street, Northeast. Upon arrival, the victim was not on the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital by a relative where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The decedent was subsequently transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore Maryland, where an autopsy will be performed to determine cause and manner of death.
The decedent has been identified as 32-year-old Elvin Jessie Johnson of Northeast, Washington, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
