On Monday, brothers David Warren, 25 and Montez Warren, 30 are scheduled to stand trial in connection with the shooting death of 32-year-old Ervin Lamont Griffin. Griffin’s body was found on May 13, 2011 in an alley of the 1200 block of 18th Place NE. Judge Rhonda Winston will preside.
The trial charging Keir Johnson and Lester Williams with the shooting death of 21-year-old Jamal Coates resumes with Judge Lynn Leibovitz.
On Tuesday, Robert Osborne, 41 is scheduled to continue his preliminary hearing with judge Johnson. Osborne is charged with second degree murder in connection with a drive-by shooting on January 15, 2014, at Yuma st. SE, that resulted in the death of Vincent Purvis, 20.
Wednesday, Ercell Overton, 32 is scheduled for a preliminary hearing. He is suspected in the shooting death of 57-year-old taxi driver Solomon James Okoroh. Judge Russell Canan will hear the case.
Joshua Terrell Mebane, 17 is scheduled for a status hearing with Judge Anderson. Mebane is charged with second degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 44-year-old taxi driver Quadar Muhammad on November 7, 2012.
Friday, Ahmad Robertson-Bey and Dwayne Hilton are scheduled for a felony status conferences with Judge Winston. Robertson-Bey is suspected in the shooting death of Andre Wilson, 26. The shooting happened at the 1100 block of 1st Place on June 6, 2013. Robertson-Bey is charged with second-degree murder while armed. Hilton is charged with premeditated murder while armed, assault with intent to kill while armed, and several related weapons offenses in connection with the November 26, 2011 shooting death of 18-year-old Mico Briscoe at a Circle 7 Express store in the 1200 block of Mt. Olivet Road NE.
Anthony M. Thomas, 23, is scheduled for sentencing with Judge Herbert Dixon at 2:00 p.m. for the shooting death of 71-year-old veteran Solomon Reese. Reese was killed on June 27, 2011 at the 2300 block of Good Hope Road Southeast after being robbed by three suspects. In October of last year, Thomas pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter. Thomas is one of three defendants; Stephen Page was sentenced to 31 years in prison and James Brewer was sentenced to 27 years in prison.
Anthony Williams, 16, is charged with second-degree murder and is scheduled for a felony status conference with Judge John Ramsey Johnson at 10:00 a.m. for the shooting death of 24-year-old James Edward Booker on November 5, 2013 in SE D.C. The teenager. Police identified Williams using video evidence including a YouTube video where he is wearing the same jacket a witness saw the suspect wearing at the scene.
Jermaine Livingston, 41 is scheduled for a felony status conference with Judge Ramsey Johnson in connection with the shooting death of 34-year-old Antwain Henderson on August 31, 2011.
Burnis Cole and Donald Dubose are scheduled for a status hearings with Judge Jennifer Anderson. Dubose is charged with second-degree murder in connection to the drive-by shooting death of 34-year-old Michael Oshea Smith. Smith was shot in the head on May 12, 2012 while sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle in SE D.C. Cole, at 10:30 a.m., is charged with first-degree murder while armed and a related weapons offense in connection with the stabbing death of 40-year-old Raasheem Jamal Rich, on January 11, 2013 outside of a liquor store on Alabama Ave. SE.
Johnnie Harris is scheduled for a status hearing at 10:30 a.m. with Judge Lynn Leibovitz for charges of second-degree murder, conspiracy, obstruction and related weapons offenses in connection with the September 24, 2011 shooting death of Isaiah Sheffield, 24. In September of last year Harris was found innocent of first-degree murder along with Jekwan Dante Smith, 20.
Judge Leibovitz is also expecting Rasdavid Lagarde for a preliminary hearing at 9:45 a.m. Lagarde is suspected in the July 4, 2013, death of Omar Sykes.
Michael W. Davis, 19, brother of football stars Vernon and Vontae Davis, is scheduled for a status hearing at 11:30 a.m. with Judge Robert Morin. Davis was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection to a series of hammer assaults in April of 2012, including one that killed 66-year-old Denver nurse Gary Dederichs. The Petworth teen was initially found incompetent for trial but is now fit to continue according to doctors at the Department of Mental Health.
