A man found shot in a car in Southeast DC on Friday evening has died of his injuries, MPD said Sunday afternoon.
The man, identified by police as 30-year-old Delonte Jackson, was found by officers responding to a report of a shooting in the unit block of 46th Street, Southeast. Jackson was taken to a local hospital. He died Saturday.

Homicide: Unit Block of 46th Street, Southeast
(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the Unit block of 46th Street, Southeast.
On Friday, March 14, 2014, at approximately 7:08 pm, police officers from the Sixth Patrol District were dispatched to the Unit block of 46th Street, Southeast, Washington, D.C., for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds inside a vehicle located in the Unit block of 46th Street, Southeast. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.
On Saturday, March 15, 2014, all lifesaving efforts failed, and the victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
The decedent was subsequently transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore Maryland where an autopsy will be performed to ascertain cause and manner of death.
The decedent has been identified as 30-year-old Delonte Jackson of Southeast, Washington, DC.
