Police Seek Help to Identify Persons of Interest in Murder of Daniel Short

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying three persons of interest in the investigation of shooting death of Daniel Calvin Short.

MPD has released a video of three people they are trying to identify, which can be seen below.

Persons of Interest Sought in a Homicide:
400 Block of Florida Avenue, NE

(Washington, DC) -The Metropolitan Police Department seeks the public’s assistance in identifying several persons of interest in connection to the homicide of Daniel Short, which occurred in the 400 block of Florida Avenue, NE.

On Sunday, February 23, 2014, at approximately 3:30 am, members of the First District responded to the area of the 5th and K Streets, Northeast for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival on the scene, members located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. He was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner pending an autopsy.

The investigation has revealed that the shooting occurred in the Fifth District, in the 400 block of Florida Avenue, Northeast.

The decedent has been identified as 36-year-old Daniel Calvin Short of Southeast, Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
