A stabbing in the 900 block of Barnaby Street, Southeast, left 44-year-old Ernest Harkum dead Thursday evening, according to MPD.
Police found Harkum, of Southeast D.C., around 10:38 p.m. lying on the ground suffering from multiple stab wounds. Harkum was then transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide: 900 Block of Barnaby Street, Southeast
(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 900 block of Barnaby Street, Southeast.On Thursday, April 24, 2014, at approximately 10:38 pm, police officers from the Seventh District responded to a call for an accident with injuries in the 900 block of Barnaby Street, Southeast. Upon arrival, they located an adult male lying on the ground suffering from multiple stab wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 44-year-old Ernest Harkum of Southeast, Washington, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
