Mary Houston, 75, of Northeast D.C., was found dead in the 800 block of Channing Place Northeast on Wednesday. Houston was reported missing Monday, and was last seen in the 2000 block of Georgia Avenue Northwest.
Medical examiners determined that Houston died of blunt force injuries and asphyxiation and ruled her death a homicide Thursday.
Police are offering a reward for anyone with information on this case.

Undetermined Death Ruled A Homicide: 800 Block of
Channing Place, NE(Washington, DC)- Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are
investigating a homicide in the 800 block of Channing Place, Northeast.On Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at approximately 11:12 am, an adult female was found deceased in the
800 block of Channing Place, Northeast. The decedent was subsequently transported to the Office of
the Chief Medical Examiner pending autopsy.On May 8, 2014, members of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the Cause of
Death to be blunt force injuries and asphyxiation and the Manner to be Homicide.The decedent has been identified as 75 year-old Mary Houston of Northeast, Washington, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that
provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any
homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to
