The victim of a fatal Southeast shooting Monday night has been identified as 40-year-old Ronnell Daniels.
According to police, Daniels was found at approximately 11:15 p.m., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the unit block of 55th Street Southeast, near Maryland. He was transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Approximately 15 minutes later, a second fatal shooting was reported that night in the 2600 block of Bowen Road Southeast. Police have not indicated any relation between the two homicides.

Decedent Identified Homicide: Unit Block of 55th Street, Southeast
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the Unit block of 55th Street, Southeast.On Monday, May 19, 2014, at approximately 11:15 pm, police officers from the Sixth Patrol District responded to a call for the report of a shooting in the Unit block of 55th Street, Southeast. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds lying in the Unit block of 55th Street, Southeast. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The decedent was subsequently transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, for the State of Maryland where an autopsy will be performed to ascertain cause and manner of death.
The decedent has been identified as 40 year-old Ronnell Daniels of Southeast, Washington, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
