On Monday,
Courts will be closed for Memorial Day.
On Tuesday,
Erik Postell is scheduled for a trial readiness hearing before Judge Lynn Leibovitz in connection with the shooting death of Paul Aime Tanoh Danzo. Prosecutors believe Danzo was murdered shortly after getting into a fight with Postell inside Balleto night club in Northwest D.C.
On Wednesday,
Davon Thomas is scheduled to be sentenced for voluntary manslaughter before Judge Russell Canan in connection with the death of Emanuel Campbell. Prosecutors say Campbell died after being pushed to the ground and striking his head.
On Friday,
Brandon Miller is scheduled for a status hearing at 2:00 p.m. before Judge Thomas Motley in connection with the shooting death of Jamal Coates.
James Walter Yates is scheduled for a preliminary hearing before Judge Russell Canan in connection with the x death of Andre Pierce Joyner. Police believe Yates shot Joyner after the two men “exchanged words as if they were going to fight,” according to arrest documents.
Jerome Lewis is scheduled for a status hearing at 11:30 a.m. before Judge John Ramsey in connection with the death of Samauri Jenkins. In March 2013, a judge found substantial probability Friday that Jerome Lewis intentionally set a fire that killed 4-year-old Samauri Jenkins
Lillian Alvarado is scheduled for a mental observation hearing at 10:00 a.m. before Judge John Ramsey. Alvarado is suspected of killing her newborn son, but has been ruled mentally incompetent to stand trial at this point.
Michael Poth is scheduled to be sentenced at 11:00 a.m. before Judge Russell Canan in connection with the stabbing death of Philip Bushong. Poth was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed in connection with the April 2012 stabbing death of 23-year-old Philip Bushong, a fellow Marine.
Stephanie Lawson is scheduled to be sentenced at 9:45 a.m. before Judge Rhonda Winston in connection with the stabbing death of Karen Jordan. Prosecutors believe Lawson stabbed Jordan in an argument over a $20 debt while she was at Jordan’s apartment playing cards.
