A 30-year-old DC man has been arrested in connection with the Saturday shooting death of Talbert Mitchell Bright, MPD said Monday.
The man, identified as James Johnson, is suspected of second-degree murder while armed.
Police found Bright with multiple gunshot wounds near the intersection of 2nd Street and Massachusetts Avenue Northwest at approximately 2:44 a.m. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Arrest Made in the Homicide: 2nd Street and Massachusetts Avenue, Northwest
(Washington, DC)- Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that an arrest has been made in the homicide which occurred at 2nd Street and Massachusetts Avenue, Northwest.
On Saturday, June 28, 2014, at approximately 2:44 am, members from the First District responded to a call for a shooting near the intersection of 2nd Street and Massachusetts Avenue, Northwest. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 48-year-old Talbert Mitchell Bright of no fixed address
On Sunday, June 29, 2014, the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force in collaboration with Detectives from the Homicide Branch arrested 30 year-old James Johnson of no fixed address, pursuant to a District of Columbia Superior Court arrest warrant charging him with Second Degree Murder while armed in connection to the homicide of Mitchell Bright.
