A 38-year-old Northeast DC man was arrested Tuesday in connection with the death of Alonzo Gregory Beasley.
Police identified him as Malik Bilal and said he’s suspected of second-degree murder while armed.

Arrest Made in Homicide at 22nd and I Streets, NE(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced today an arrest has been made in the homicide which occurred at 22nd and I Streets, NE.
On Sunday, July 6, 2014, at approximately 3:33 pm officers from the Fifth District responded to a call for a stabbing at 22nd and I Streets NE. Upon their arrival, an adult male was located suffering from stab wounds to the body. Personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The decedent’s remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner pending an autopsy.
The decedent has been identified as 52-year-old Alonzo Gregory Beasley.
On Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at approximately 1:25 pm, pursuant to an arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 38-year-old Malik Bilal of Northeast, DC. He has been charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed in the death of Alonzo Gregory Beasley
