An unidentified man was killed early Sunday morning in the unit block of N Street Northeast, according to MPD.
Police officers responding to a call for an unconscious person found the man at approximately 5:24 a.m. suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Emergency medical services transported the man to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

(Washington, DC)- Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a homicide which occurred in the Unit block of N Street, NE.
On Sunday, July 27, 2014, at approximately 5:24 am, DC Fire and Emergency personnel responded to a call for an unconscious person in the Unit block of N Street, NE. Upon arrival they located an adult male and assessed he was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Members from the Fifth District and Homicide responded to the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead. The decedent’s remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.
The decedent’s name has been withheld pending next of kin notification.
