MPD announced Thursday that police have closed a 1996 homicide case with the arrest of a Northwest D.C. man.
Michael Davy, 19, was found suffering from visible gunshot wounds in a residence on Feb. 19, 1996, at approximately 10:42 pm in the unit block of Rhode Island Avenue Northwest. He later died from his injuries.
On Wednesday, Curtis Farmer, 44, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree felony murder while armed in connection with the case.

Arrest Made in 1996 Homicide: Unit Block of Rhode Island Avenue, Northwest
(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced an arrest has been made in the 1996 homicide of 19 year-old Michael Davy, which occurred on Monday, February 19, 1996 at approximately 10:42 pm, in the unit block of Rhode Island Avenue, NW. The cause of death was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death was ruled a homicide.
On Monday, February 19, 1996, at approximately 10:42 pm, police officers of the Fifth District responded to a residence, in the unit block of Rhode Island Avenue, NW, where 19 year-old Michael Davy of Northwest, Washington, DC was located inside suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead.
On Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at approximately 10:25 pm, police officers from the Fourth District arrested 44-year-old Curtis Farmer, of Northwest and charged him with First Degree Felony Murder While Armed in connection to the shooting death of Michael Davy.
