A shooting in the 300 block of 37th Street Southeast killed Tyrone Lee Lewis, MPD reported Friday.
Lewis, 27, was found indoors, unconscious and suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He died at a nearby hospital.

Homicide: 300 Block of 37th Street, Southeast
(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 300 block of 37th Street, Southeast.
On Thursday, November 13, 2014, at approximately 6:42 pm, police officers from the Sixth District responded to a call for service in connection to a shooting in the 300 block of 37th Street, Southeast. Upon arrival, they located an unconscious male inside the incident location, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The decedent has been subsequently transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for state of Maryland in Baltimore, Maryland, where an autopsy will be performed to ascertain the cause and manner of death.
The decedent has been identified as 27-year-old Tyrone Lee Lewis, of Southeast, Washington, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
