Reader Jazzy left this comment after Ronnie Scharrod Edon died in a shooting early Tuesday morning:
This world we all live in . Smh … i remember when it was an accomplishment to see 21(which is still sad). Now its a gold to see 18. Our kids have to wake up and stop this. We are losing our youth. This poor young man has lost his life which he just started to live. And for what. If you want to fight or kill why not fight for your country make a mark on history instead of making a mess.
Edon was 19.

Prosecutors say Demonta Chappell followed Stevann Moorer, on the night of Oct. 27, 2012, and shot and killed him.
“Chappell and Moorer were walking so close that night that people may have thought they were together,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan Kravis said in opening arguments Monday.
But defense attorney Emily Stirba has a different theory and argued that the wrong man is on trial.
“Demonta Chappell is innocent, and he had nothing to do with this murder,” Stirba said. “You are going to hear a fabrication of a story, involving people serving in their own interest, where a man is blamed for someone else’s crime.”

A judge ordered Michael Gayle held Friday in connection with the June 29 stabbing death of Eboni Domally. Before ruling, Judge Lynn Leibovitz told the court she found Gayle “extremely dangerous and a risk of flight.”
