A vigil and community meeting were held in memory of Bill Mitchell Jr. Police announced that they are looking for a black male in his mid- 20’s, about 5‘6 who wears a jacket with palm trees and “scarface” written in script on the back. Residents close to the scene of the shooting said they fear the shooting is an “escalation” of violence in the neighborhood.
Shawn Davis was ordered held in the death of Tawana Barnes Copeland, his ex-girlfriend. Davis faces a first-degree murder charge in her stabbing death.
Brian Gaither was arraigned on a second-degree murder charge in the death of missing woman Latisha Frazier. Frazier’s body has not been found. In charging documents, police say Gaither confessed to killing Frazier, saying that a group of six people attacked the woman before he “finished her off.”
Metro Police identified two men killed in a double shooting in Northeast D.C. as Rashid Paul, 26, and D’Angelo Thomspon, 27. No arrests have been announced.
