Selina Knight was found stabbed to death in her Southeast D.C. apartment shortly before midnight on March 4. Authorities found derogatory graffiti scrawled on her apartment’s walls, doors and appliances. Her boyfriend, Keith Littlepage, was arrested and charged with first degree murder in her death.
Vanessa McGee was shot and killed early in the morning of March 5. Her boyfriend, Ronald Pickett, has been charged with second degree in her death. According to court documents, he told authorities that the gun went off accidentally when he was packing his belongings to stay elsewhere for the night or move from the home.
Henry Kelly was shot and killed in an alley in Southeast D.C. early in the morning of March 5. MPD has not announced any arrests in the case.
An unidentified man was arrested on March 10 in connection with two separate homicides in D.C: the 2004 shooting of Roderick Valentine, 16 and the 2005 shooting of 17-year-old Louis Hastings, 17. Police said they would not identify the man arrested because he was a juvenile when the crimes were committed.
Deshaun Johnson and Timothy Shade pleaded innocent to second degree murder at their joint arraignment on second degree murder charges in D.C. Superior Court March 11. The two men are accused of assaulting Bernard Lewis in Southeast D.C. on Monday, August 30, 2010. Lewis died the next day at a hospital. Officials said he had suffered blunt force injury to the head.
Sharrod Peppers was presented with a first degree murder charge March 9 in the shooting death of Rodney Bean in Northwest D.C. in October 2010.
