UPDATE: The Washington Post reports that the victim of this shooting was Bruce Parker, a 47-year-old D.C. man.
A shooting Monday night in the 1300 block of Bryant St Northeast left one man dead, WUSA and the Washington Post report.
The victim was a 47-year-old Silver Spring man, Fifth District Commander Andy Solberg said in a message on the district listserve. He added that the shooting took place near the intersection of Bryant St. and Downing St., NE.
The man’s name has not been released and no arrests have been announced.
Alert D.C. warned residents about the shooting last night.

Last night, Monday, March 28, 2011, about 10:15 pm, a 47 year old Silver Spring man was shot and killed near the intersection of Bryant St. and Downing St., NE.
Officers were on the scene quickly. Homicide detectives arrived and the case is still an open investigation.
I do not have much information to share with the community at this point, but as I get more, I will keep you updated with any information the detectives believe can be released without compromising their investigation.

Homicide in the 1300 Block of Bryant Street, NE
(Washington, DC) —Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 1300 block of Bryant Street, NE.
On Monday, March 28, 2011, at approximately 10:15 pm., units from the Fifth District were dispatched to the 1300 block of Bryant Street, NE., to investigate the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Personnel from the DC Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 47-year-old Bruce Parker of Northeast, DC. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at (202) 727-9099 or 1-888-919-
