A 27-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a 2007 homicide that took the life of Gregory Lamont Edwards in Southeast DC.
MPD announced Thursday morning that Paul Hanson Johnson is suspected of first degree murder while armed in the case.
Edwards was found with fatal gunshot wounds at 15th Street and Congress Place, SE in March 2007.

Arrest Made in the 2007 Homicide of Gregory Lamont Edwards
(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that an arrest has been made in the 2007 homicide which occurred in the area of 15th Street and Congress Pl., SE.
On Wednesday, March 14th, 2007, at approximately 1:01 am units from the Seventh District responded to the area of 15th Street and Congress Place, SE to investigate the sound of gunshots. Upon their arrival they located an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and transported the victim, 39 year-old Gregory Lamont Edwards, to a local area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
On Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at approximately 12:45 pm, 27 year-old Paul Hanson Johnson was arrested pursuant to an arrest warrant charging him with First Degree Murder while Armed.
