In a brief court appearance Wednesday, 27-year-old Rickey Pharr pleaded innocent to charges that he killed 31-year-old Angelo Jones during a craps game in the Clay Terrace neighborhood of D.C. Oct. 2.
Pharr’s attorney entered the plea and Pharr did not speak. At the hearing he was arraigned on the charges including first degree murder, obstruction of justice and three weapons charges.
Government prosecutors said investigators were in the process of determining if there is any biological evidence on materials, including dice, removed from the crime scene. They have not requested a DNA sample from Pharr at this time.
Judge Thomas Motley set a trial date for the case of Nov. 14.
