A man fatally shot Saturday night near Howard University has been identified as 20-year-old Keenan Jerel Lee of Capitol Heights, MD.

Homicide: 2200 Block of Georgia Avenue, NW
(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 2200 block of Georgia Avenue, NW
On Saturday, October 22, 2011 at approximately 10:07 pm, units from the Third District responded to Georgia Avenue and V Street, NW to investigate the sounds of gunshots. Upon their arrival, they discovered the victim had been taken to a local hospital suffering from gunshot wounds where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The preliminary investigation revealed the victim was standing in the 2200 block of Georgia Avenue at the time of the shooting.
The decedent has been identified as 20 year-old Keenan Jerel Lee of Capitol Heights, MD.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
