Ray Dicks Arrested on Suspicion of Murder 1 in Eric Kearney’s Shooting Death

A 21-year-old Capitol Heights man was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of first-degree murder while armed in connection with the October shooting death of Eric Kearney.

Ray Allen Dicks was presented with the charge Wednesday at DC Superior Court, according to court records. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 23.

Arrest Made in the Homicide in the 1600 block of Lincoln Road, NE

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Departments Homicide Branch have announced that an arrest has been made in the shooting death of 22 year-old Eric Kearney of Northeast, DC.

On Monday, October 17, 2011, at approximately 8:15 pm, units from the Fifth District responded to the 1600 block of Lincoln Road, NE, after hearing sounds of gunshots from that area. Upon their arrival, they located a male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

On Tuesday, November 15, 2011, at approximately 6:15 pm, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 21 year-old Ray Allen Dicks of Capitol Heights, MD, charging him with Murder One while Armed.
