A mid-morning shooting in Northeast DC killed a person Saturday; it was the second fatal shooting of the day.
Fifth District Commander Andy Solberg said in a listserv message that the victim was a 22-year-old man. He wrote:
This morning at about 10:25 am, a 22 year old man was shot and killed near an alley in the 700 block of 19th St., NE, just off Benning Road.

A report in the Washington Post said the victim was shot in the face and it was not immediately clear whether the victim was a juvenile or an adult.
