Kenilworth Terrace Shooting Victim Identified as James Ray Sherrod

A man shot and killed inside a Kenilworth Terrace apartment building yesterday has been identified as 22-year-old James Ray Sherrod of Northeast DC.

Homicide: 700 Block of Kenilworth Terrace, NE

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the homicide which occurred in the 700 block of Kenilworth Terrace, NE.

On Saturday, April 28, 2012 at approximately 1:40 pm, units from the Sixth District responded to the 700 block of Kenilworth Terrace for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon their arrival, they located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he subsequently succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead

The decedent has been identified as 22 year-old James Ray Sherrod of Northeast, Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
