NBC Washington reports that four people were shot in Northwest DC Wednesday night; one of those struck by gunfire has died.
Reports NBC Washington:
Police said the incident started in the courtyard of a building on the 5000 block of First Street NW and ended with the four people shot on Gallatin Street.
One person died in the shooting. Another one of the wounded was said to be in critical condition.
WUSA reports that two of the victims are adults and two are juveniles.
Police said the victims were on the street when they were shot, WUSA reported.
MPD tweeted at about 5:15 Wednesday evening, according to the Tweet’s time stamp, that there was a shooting in the area.

Ward 4 Councilwoman Muriel Bowser posted this message tonight:
We’ve suffered a shooting in the Ward. MPD investigating at Gallatin and First ST NW. I’ve been briefed on scene by Cmdr Missouri.

A message on the Fourth District listserv said:
Around 8pm, units received a call for a shooting in the 5000 blk of First St NW. A total of four victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds have been transported to area hospitals for treatment. We are canvassing the area for evidence and witnesses and ask that anyone with information call 202-727-9099.
