NW DC Shooting Kills 40-Year-Old Simon Anderson

A shooting in Northwest DC early Sunday morning killed a 40-year-old man identified by police as Simon Anderson.

Homicide: 3500 Block of Georgia Avenue, NW

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 3500 block of Georgia Avenue, NW.

On Sunday, August 5, 2012, at approximately 3:00 am a unit from the Fourth District responded for the sounds of gunshots in the area of Georgia Avenue and Park Road, NW. Upon arrival, an adult male was located in the 3500 block of Georgia Avenue, suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and did not find any signs consistent with life. The victim was pronounced dead by a member of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

The decedent has been identified as 40-year-old Simon Anderson.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
