A 25 year old Southeast DC man was arrested today in connection with a fatal 2007 shooting, MPD said Thursday evening.
In a press release, MPD said the man, identified as William J. Douglas, is suspected of first-degree murder while armed in the shooting death of Kirk Hart.
Hart was killed just before midnight on June 19, 2007 in the 2700 block of Robinson Place, Southeast.

Arrest Made in the Homicide in the 2700 Block of Robinson Place, SE
(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that an arrest has been made in the fatal shooting which occurred in the 2700 block of Robinson Place, SE.
On Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at approximately 11:50 pm, units from the Seventh District responded to the 2700 block of Robinson Place, SE for the report of the sounds of gunshots. Upon their arrival, they located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he subsequently succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead.
The decedent has been identified as 28 year-old Kirk Hart of Southeast, Washington, DC.
On Thursday, August 9, 2012, at approximately 9:45 am, detectives from the Homicide Branch arrested 25 year-old William J. Douglas of Southeast, Washington, DC, charging him with First Degree Murder while armed in the fatal shooting of Kirk Hart.
