Robert Lesueur Identified as Victim of Monday Shooting

Police have identified the victim of a fatal shooting in Southeast D.C. as 23-year-old Robert Maurice Lesueur of Northeast D.C.

Lesueur was shot about 1:33 a.m. Monday in the 1700 block of 27th Street Southeast. He was transported to an area hospital where he died.

The Washington Post reports that the incident is believed to have been a domestic altercation.

Homicide 1700 Block of 27th Street, SE

(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating the fatal shooting which occurred in the 1700 block of 27th Street, SE.

On Monday, October 22, 2012, at approximately 1:33 am, units from the Sixth District responded to the 1700 block of 27th Street, SE for the report of an assault in progress. Upon arrival, they located the victim unconscious suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent is identified as 23-year old Robert Maurice Lesueur of Northeast, Washington, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
