A man who was shot and killed Wednesday evening in Northeast D.C. has been identified as 42-year-old Dawon Markham of Mitchellville, Md.
Police found Markham suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the 200 block of 62nd Street NE around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday; he later died at the hospital.

Homicide: 200 Block of 62nd Street, NE
(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred in the 200 block of 62nd Street, NE.
On Wednesday, June 19, 2013, at approximately 8:25 pm, units from the Sixth District were flagged down in the 200 block of 62nd Street, NE in reference to an unconscious person. Officers discovered an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent is identified as 42-year-old Dawon Markham of Mitchellville, Maryland.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
