A man killed early Saturday morning has been identified as Christopher Ballard, 38, of Southeast D.C.
Police found Ballard at the intersection of 53rd and E Streets Southeast at 2:14 a.m. after responding to the sound of gunfire. He was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead on the scene.

Homicide: 53rd and E Street, SE
(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting which occurred at the intersection of 53rd and E Street, SE.
On Saturday, July 6, 2013, at approximately 2:14 am, a Sixth District uniformed patrol officer heard the sound of gunshots at the intersection of 53rd and E Street, SE. Upon arrival, the patrol officer discovered an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel responded and did not find any signs consistent with life. The decedent remained on the scene and was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia, pending an autopsy.
The decedent is identified as 38-year-old Christopher Ballard of Southeast, Washington, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
