Two victims of an early morning shooting have been identified as a sister and brother from Southeast D.C.
Jamie Jenkins, 28, and Jamahl Jenkins, 21, were found shot in the 5300 block of East Capitol Street Northeast around 4:30 Saturday morning. Jamahl was pronounced dead at the scene; Jamie later died at the hospital.

Double Homicide: 5300 Block of East Capitol Street, Northeast
(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a double homicide which occurred in the 5300 block of East Capitol Street, Northeast.
On Saturday, July 20, 2013 at approximately 4:35 am, police officers from the Sixth District responded to the 5300 block of East Capitol Street, Northeast, to investigate the report of two people shot. The police officers consequently located two shooting victims, an adult male and an adult female in the 5300 block of East Capitol Street, Northeast. Both shooting victims were unconscious and unresponsive. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the adult female victim to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel did not find any signs consistent with life in connection with the adult male shooting victim. The adult male decedent remained on the scene and was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia, pending an autopsy.
The female decedent is identified as 28-year-old Jamie Jenkins of Southeast, Washington, DC.
The male decedent is identified as 21-year-old Jamahl Jenkins of Southeast, Washington, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
