A Maryland man has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder while armed in connection with the shooting death of Rokeida Spriggs on G Street Southeast, last week.
The suspect, identified by police as 22-year-old Charles Wennen Young, was arrested Thursday.
Spriggs was found shot November 22 in the 4900 block of G Street Southeast, at about 1:00 a.m. She was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

Arrest Made in Homicide: 4900 Block of G Street, Southeast
(Washington, DC)-Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that an arrest has been made in the fatal shooting which occurred in the 4900 Block of G Street, Southeast.
On Friday, November 22, 2013, at approximately 12:58 am, police officers from the Sixth Patrol District responded to the 4900 Block of G Street, Southeast for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. The remains of the decedent were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner pending an autopsy and a determination of a cause and manner of death.
The decedent is identified as 21-year-old Rokeida Spriggs of Southeast Washington, DC.
On Thursday, November 28, 2013, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 22-year-old Charles Wennen Young of Forestville, Maryland, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant charging him with Second Degree Murder while Armed in connection to the shooting death of Rokeida Spriggs.
