A 39-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the April shooting death of DC teen Darius Cannon.
The suspect, identified by police as Dion Redwood of District Heights, Maryland, is expected to be charged with first-degree murder while armed.

Arrest Made in Homicide: 2700 Block of Langston Place, SE
(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that an arrest has been made in the homicide which occurred in the 2700 block of Langston Place, Southeast.
On Sunday, April 7, 2013 at approximately 12:37 am, units from the Seventh District responded to the 2700 block of Langston Place, SE, for the report of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they located a juvenile male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent is identified as 17 year-old Darius Cannon of Southeast, DC.
On Friday, January 3, 2014, at approximately 10:15 am, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested 39-year-old Dion Redwood of District Heights, Maryland, pursuant to a District of Columbia Superior Court arrest warrant and charged him First Degree Murder while Armed in connection to the homicide of Darius Cannon.
