Gregory Allen Green Arrested in Shooting Death of Derrick Eugene Williams

A 25-year-old Southeast D.C. man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the shooting death of Derrick Eugene Williams last week. The man, identified by police as Gregory Allen Green, is suspected of first-degree murder while armed.

Williams was found on March 29 with an apparent gunshot wound in the 1200 block of Eaton Road Southeast. He died at a local hospital.

Arrest Made in Homicide: 1200 Block of Eaton Road, Southeast

(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch have announced that an arrest has been made in the homicide which occurred in the 1200 block of Eaton Road, Southeast.

On Saturday, March 29, 2014, at approximately 12:27 am, officers from the Seventh District responded to a call for the report of sounds of gunshots in the 1200 block of Eaton Road, Southeast. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel arrived on the scene and transported him to a local hospital for treatment where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 35-year-old Derrick Eugene Williams of Southeast, DC.

On Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at approximately 9:15 am, 25-year-old Gregory Allen Green of Southeast, Washington, DC, was arrested by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, pursuant to a District of Columbia Superior Court arrest warrant charging him with First Degree Felony Murder While Armed in the homicide of Derrick Eugene Williams.
