Three homicides were reported this week in D.C.
- The death of 60-year-old Carlton Coltrane, of Southeast D.C., May 9, was ruled a homicide on Sunday by MPD. According to police, Coltrane died of blunt force trauma three days after a robbery on Tuesday, May 6, at approximately 12:50 am, in the 400 block of 8th Street, Southeast.
- Elike Rahmon Richardson, 36, was found by police suffering from apparent stab wounds in the 4400 block of C Street, Southeast at approximately 9:10 p.m. on Tuesday. Richardson was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
- Jermaine Dews, 27, was killed in a shooting Wednesday on the 5800 block of Field Place, Northeast. According to police, at approximately 3:10 pm, officers responded to the sounds of gunshots and discovered Dews suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Daquan Tinker, 18, pleaded innocent Tuesday to first-degree murder, felony murder, armed robbery, and six related charges in connection with the 2012 shooting death of Terrence Robinson. On August 4, 2012, Robinson was found dead on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds to his body in the 2600 block of Douglas Road in Southeast, according to court documents.
Zerrick Brown, 42, was arrested Thursday, and held without bond Friday, on suspicion of first-degree felony murder in connection to the death of 60-year-old Carlton Coltrane. Coltrane died three days after being punched and robbed outside a 7-Eleven store on the 400 block of 8th Street, Southeast on May 9, according to charging documents.
