A shooting in the 2700 block of Langston Place, Southeast killed 36-year-old Simwone Keith Milstead Saturday night, according to MPD.
Police officers responding to a report of a shooting just before midnight found Milstead suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Milstead was then transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Homicide: 2700 Block of Langston Place, Southeast
(Washington, DC) – Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a homicide which occurred in the 2700 block of Langston Place, Southeast.
On Saturday, May 17, 2014, at approximately 11:58 pm, officers from the Seventh District responded to a call for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The decedent was subsequently transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the District of Columbia where an autopsy is pending.
The decedent has been identified as 36-year-old Simwone Keith Milstead of Southeast, DC.
The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons wanted for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia.
