An early-morning shooting at the intersection of 8th and Jefferson Street Northwest left one man dead and another injured, according to news reports.
Police say Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a report of a shooting on 8th Street at Jefferson Street around 2:46 a.m. Once on scene they found two men suffering from gun shot wounds. One of the victims was shot in the back, the second man was hit in the buttocks. Both were conscious when they were transported, however, the man shot in the back died at the hospital.
Detectives are looking for a black male with a slim build in a camo hoodie. They believe the suspect is driving a gray Monte Carlo with Maryland tags 2AY2516.
