Kris wrote in about David Andrew Matthews, saying:
Please catch the killer. Mr. Matthews was a beloved teacher. My son loved him as did all of the students at Ft. Hunt Elementary. My condolences to the entire SACC community and David’s family.
Tiffany Barnes wrote in about her father, Anthony Willford, and submitted a poster memorial of him.
This is my father. He was killed 6 days after my 26th birthday. If you have any information please come forward. My family and I are still grieving my father’s death. Time is suppose to heal all but it doesn’t. Its two day’s before my 1st father’s day without him and all I want to know is who stole the life of a great Father, grandfather, brother, Uncle, friend and so much more.
I love you Daddy and when we find out who murdered you, you will finally rest in Peace.
Tina Lindsay wrote in today about her son, Ralph Hodge Jr., who was 17 years old when he was killed in August 2008 in the 4800 block of Benning Road, SE.
Johnny Graves was 19 years old when he was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder in connection with the case. Graves, who will be 22 years old at the end of this month, is in custody and awaiting trial. He has been indicted on one count of first-degree murder, one count of possession of a firearm during a crime of violence, and one count of carrying a pistol without a license. No trial date has been set.
Tina Lindsay said she’s haunted by her son’s death. She wrote:
I lost my son on 8/27/2008 to a violent crime by his own friend. My son’s name was Ralph Hodge Jr, (Chuck) a lot of people knew him, because he played football for Marshall Heights Bison. He was on the team that went to Florida and won the Superbowl. It is a very hard thing to lose a child, I still sits and wait for him to walk through the door, even though I no that he never will. I have a hard time listening to some songs that he liked, I can’t even look at his pictures. Ralph was killed in Washington, DC at a Corner store on Benning Road SE. He will always be in my heart.

This comment of the day comes from Sadly_Missing_U, who wrote about Don Diego Jones.
On June 8, 2011 will mark the one year anniversary of my co-worker, friend, father, husband, brother, son, Don Diego Jones. Don was a multi talented opera singer and a well loved young man. He was my co-worker, and always made us laugh. Don sang for Coretta King’s funeral. His voice was golden pure and natural. On June 8, 2010 someone stole and rob so many of us of our Don. Don’s body was found in Fort DuPont Park. A homicide victim found shot in Southeast Washington last week was identified Tuesday as a 43-year-old classical singer from Temple Hills who frequently performed in the chorus of the Washington National Opera. Don Diego Jones, of the 2100 block of Anvil Lane, was found dead in Fort Dupont Park about 4:30 p.m. on June 8, D.C. police said, adding that his body was on the ground near his parked car. The slaying remains under investigation. His case is still open. Someone knows something!!!! Read more

Sonya worked in my condo as a security guard. I had known her for 5 years and we were informed that she passed away. What I didn’t know was that she was a victim of a violent crime. Please if anyone has any information, go to the DC police. We will miss Sonya very much and pray for her family.

This comment of the day comes from Mee Mee, who wrote in response to Michelle Johnson, who said she was with Kevin Washington as he died in Columbia Heights earlier this month.
Michelle I am so happy and thankful to know that some of God’s angels here on earth were with my cousin in his last moments. Just reading both posts from you and Michelle had the tears flowing uncontrollably down my face. I was happy to know he wasn’t alone and sad because of the awful circumstances under which he was taken. Just the thought of initially thinking he was alone in his last moments was very unsettling and devastating because no one deserves to be alone in the street dying. I would truly like to thank you and your co-worker Michelle along with all of the other good samaritans for being with him, that means more than you will ever know. Sending Love, Blessings, and Kind Thoughts your way. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

This comment of the day comes from Tasha Smith, who wrote in about a woman found dead in Anacostia Sunday night. She said:
She is the mother of two and a grandmother. I’m so so sad to know that she died a violent death. I pray that she did not suffer. I wasn’t an acqaintance but I have known her since she was around 14 years old. It really breaks my heart. I will not reveal her name at this time but the family has id her. Senseless, people take life from others so easily. May they all pay in the end for these horrific crimes.
